Your house cleansing ritual
Before you begin, open a window and ensure that the rooms can be well ventilated.
Light the charcoal in a suitable, heat-resistant incense burner and wait until a thin layer of ash has formed. Then place a small amount of the mixture on the charcoal.
Start at the front door and slowly walk through the room. Pay special attention to corners, doors, and transitions. Consciously direct your thoughts to what should leave and what should be given space in your home in the future.
A possible intention:
"I release what no longer belongs to me and this place. My space is clear, protected, and open to new, harmonious energy."
After smudging, ventilate thoroughly so that smoke and stale air can escape.
Application on charcoal
For a strong and intense smudging.
Place a small amount on the fully glowing charcoal. Add sparingly if necessary. Charcoal develops a very high temperature and remains hot for a long time even after it has visibly stopped glowing.
Application on an incense screen or burner
For a gentler and longer-lasting fragrance development.
Place a small amount on the incense screen and slowly heat it. Adjust the distance to the flame so that the mixture fragrances without burning quickly.
